AR Art Installation
White Noise is a story driven data visualization installation about human consumption effects on climate change and our coral ecosystem. Using Twitter conversations as data points, we categorize Tweets that are either positive or negative about climate change, which would trigger 3D animations around the augmented coral ecosystem.

FoST For Good
At the core of Paper Triangles, we aim to create experiences that blend art, technology, and story. FoST invited us to premiere a project that was built from passion about a subject that affects us all as humans, climate change. And we really wanted to tell an impactful story through the lens of AR and data.
Why use AR to tell stories?
Why AR? In the world of data, social media, and Tweets. We often forget about all the white noise of information. And what AR does really well is taking all that and making it visible to create stories. AR is a very inclusive medium. It allows for a shared experience and cultivates conversation between each other. And that is what we hope to achieve with our piece, White Noise.
White Noise is a story about climate change and how it affects our coral ecosystem through the lens of data and AR. Using Twitter conversations as data points, e categorize Tweets that are either positive or negative about climate change. By collecting and categorizing these data points, we were able visualize them in real time through AR. This allowed us to craft an experience around the data points itself.
Importance of data as an experience.
Data and information is everywhere and it is a everyday part of life. We often completely forget about it, pretend like it doesn’t exist. But by using AR, we can take all that data and make it visible. Craft it into impactful experience that can really shape the day we see things and maybe ourselves. It is important for us to pay attention to the data and reflect on what we can do to help climate change.
And that is ultimately our goal at Paper Triangles. To use art, technology, and storytelling to tell impactful stories. To raise awareness about important subject matters like climate change because it effect us all, as humans. And with new technologies coming out, it could only make our stories more immersive and impactful.
