Float: A Cinematic VR Experience
VR Visual Development
Paper Triangles was contacted early on to work on the initial design language and layout of the IT VR experience. Our artist and designers were able to interpret and conceptualize concepts from the client, and accurately recreate the sewers of Derry as seen in the film completely in CG.
Paper Triangles' team played a role in the early visual development of the piece as well as being present on the shoot. Able to advise on ideal ways to shoot and develop the experience to marry both CG and live-action in VR seamlessly
The visual developement we did at Paper Triangles was to bring the fear of IT to life in VR. The floor and walls just close enough for anxiety, lighting that creates a cold oppressive atmosphere, and the final haunting shot of Pennywise. All this was done in support of instilling dread upon putting the headset on.
